How to Replace Windshield-Washer Tubing in a Toyota Tacoma
The Toyota Tacoma is a solid work truck and likely sees a lot of dirt and mud. It's important to keep the windshield clean. If you've found that the windshield in your Tacoma truck isn't getting fluid and there's still fluid in the washer reservoir, you might need to replace your tubing. The tubing and valve assemblies supply the washer fluid to the windshield.

- 1
Locate the Tacoma's windshield washer reservoir tank which is right behind the passenger side headlight. On the four-cylinder models, the reservoir tank is to the left of the radiator and on six-cylinder models, it's right next to the power steering fluid tank.
- 2
Purchase tubing or tubing/valve assemblies specifically made for your Tacoma truck. Avoid the one-size-fits-all assembly as it will not fit properly. An auto parts store or the Toyota dealership will have the tubing you need.
- 3
Disconnect the tubing at the windshield side first and drain the remaining fluid into a separate container for disposal.
- 4
Remove the tubing from the bottom end of the reservoir. You'll need to be underneath the Tacoma to reach this connection. Due to the Tacoma's height clearance, you should be able to work from underneath without using a jack.
- 5
Connect the new tubing to the washer reservoir, then the windshield outlets.
- 6
Fill the reservoir with fresh washer fluid and test the wipers. You might notice that it takes a few minutes to prime the new tubing before you see washer fluid coming out onto the windshield.
